Implementation of Asset 360 involves configuring several features, such as Transactions, Expressions, Mapping, and so on. The Asset 360 Migration Tool accelerates and automates the migration of ServiceMax configuration items from any source org to any target org. The Migration Tool helps in faster migration, and also reduces the chances of errors related to dependencies and incomplete migration.
Configurations are done usually in a sandbox org, tested as per the requirements, and then migrated to production orgs.
The tool automates several aspects, including the following:
• Checking for version compatibility
• Checking if the items selected for migration already exist in the target org
• Updating the existing items if the user opts to overwrite
• Creating new items for selected items that do not exist in the target org
• Identifying and migrating dependencies
• Identifies whether the user has permissions on all Asset 360 objects and fields in the target org
