Service Contract Creation Using APIs
Service Contract API provides an ability to build bridges between Revenue Cloud, Service Cloud, and Asset 360. Revenue Cloud is responsible for Quotes, Orders, Amendments, Billing, and Revenue recognition primarily. The Service Cloud and Asset 360 are responsible for:
• Asset Coverage
• Entitled Services
• Discounts or Surcharges
• Billing and revenue recognition
To create a Service Contract leveraging Contract Plans, the following channels have been introduced:
• Apex Actions, available in Flows
• Global Classes, available to be consumed in Apex
Use Case
You have the ability to leverage CPQ solutions to quote and sell Asset 360 Contract Plans that include SLAs, discounts, special pricing, entitled services, and maintenance plans. When a Sales Contract is created, the Service Contract APIs provide the tools to convert the Sales Contract into a Service Contract, which can be executed by Field Service. Contract offerings are tracked at an asset level and Asset 360 renewal insights can be used for up-sell opportunities and renewal contracts by CPQ solutions.
