Running a Direct Sync System Job
Manually trigger the Pull Direct Sync Records from Snowflake system job to load staged Work Order records from Snowflake into the PTC Orbit production database without waiting for the next scheduled run.
When the Work Order object uses Direct Sync ingestion mode, Matillion pipelines load records into a Snowflake staging area. A system job then pulls those staged records into the PTC Orbit database on a fixed interval, by default, every 12 hours. Running the job manually loads records immediately.
Prerequisites
The Work Order object must be set to Direct Sync ingestion mode. See Setting Up Data Sync.
A Matillion pipeline must have already loaded records into the Snowflake staging area.
1. From the PTC Orbit dashboard, open the left navigation menu and select Max Admin > Admin.
2. In Max Admin, open the System Management menu and click System Jobs.
3. In the System Jobs list, open the Pull Direct Sync Records from Snowflake job.
4. On the Overview tab, review the job configuration to confirm it is set correctly:
Operation: Direct Sync Stage Records from Snowflake.
User: Initial Sync User.
Logging Level: ERROR.
Policy: Keep At All Times.
Trigger Interval: 12 HOUR.
5. From the options menu in the System Job toolbar, click Run. A Job submitted notification appears at the top of the page.
6. Verify the result in Max Designer. Navigate to Developer Tools > Objects and open the Work Order object. In the Advanced Services section, confirm Data Ingestion Mode is set to Direct Sync. Hover over the record-count indicator to verify the count has increased.
7. Open the Work Orders list view in PTC Orbit. Confirm the newly synced records appear with their Work Order number, Type, Priority, Description, Status, and Technician assignment.
Work Order records are now available in PTC Orbit.
What to Do Next
The Pull Direct Sync Records from Snowflake job runs automatically every 12 hours. Run it manually whenever Matillion loads a new batch and you need the records available immediately.
