Configuring Data Connectors for ServiceMax Core Integration
Configure a Data Connector record in Max Designer to establish the connection between ServiceMax Core and PTC Orbit.
To sync data from ServiceMax Core to PTC Orbit, it is essential to establish a Data Connector first. A Data Connector record contains all important information required for the ServiceMax Core connection.
1. Log in to Max platform and switch to Max Designer.
2. From the Developer Tools menu, click Data Connectors.
By default, there is an out-of-the-box (OOTB) record named Salesforce Data Connector with the type Salesforce.
3. To configure the Salesforce Data Connector record, provide the required information for the following fields:
API URL
Login Username
Login Password
Client ID: Consumer Key of the connected app
Client Secret: Consumer Secret of SFDC org's connected app
4. Click Save.
*
Alternatively, you can create a new Data Connector record by selecting Salesforce as the type.
What to Do Next
You can configure data sync processes. For more information, refer to Configuring data sync processors.
*
To sync preventive maintenance objects (PM Plan, PM Coverage, PM Schedule, PM Schedule Definition, PM Process, and PM Expressions) from ServiceMax Core, the same Salesforce Data Connector credentials are used. No separate connector record is required for maintenance data. For pipeline configuration, see Configuring the Maintenance Data Pipeline.
