Provision a PTC Orbit production tenant, configure the Matillion data integration project, and establish data synchronization pipelines.
Overview
PTC Orbit tenant provisioning covers the end-to-end workflow for creating a production tenant, configuring the Matillion data integration project, and establishing data synchronization pipelines between external systems and the PTC Orbit data warehouse.
Use cases
• Provision a new production tenant through the Tenant Management system and deploy the PTC Orbit application instance for a customer.
• Create and configure a Matillion project with the correct Snowflake credentials, environment settings, and user roles for the customer.
• Set up full and incremental data sync pipelines in Matillion to load data from Salesforce, AWS S3, or custom REST API endpoints into PTC Orbit.
• Enable Staging Review or Pre-DB Sync mode on PTC Orbit objects to control how ingested data is validated and committed to the database.
• Import pre-built Matillion pipelines from the PTC Orbit Data Connector and customize them for the customer environment.
• Troubleshoot common provisioning and data sync errors, including pipeline failures, missing matching rules, and record synchronization issues.
How it works
1. The PTC Orbit Support team creates a production tenant. You must create a customer support case to get a production tenant.
2. As a part of the setup, the Support team configures a Matillion account for data ingestion.
