To Use Open theTool
1. Click > . The Analysis dialog box opens.
2. Select a tab:
◦
Open—Opens the tool. Enter values for the
Stroke (tool)opening height and the
Stroke (guide package) height.
◦
Rotate—Rotates the tool. Choose a rotation axis, and then set the offset value and angle of rotation.
◦
Simulate—Simulates the opening process. Enter values for the
Stroke (tool) opening height, the
Stroke (guide package) height and a value for the
Step Width step increment. Click
Simulate to start.
◦
Models—Classify models by group. Select the models from the dialog box or use the search tool

. Click

for the top group,

for the guiding group, and

for base group.
3. To ensure correct movement, label all the parts in a model. By default, parts are labeled according to their center of gravity, as follows:
◦ Top group—All parts that are static relative to the top plate
◦ Hold down group—All moving parts
◦ Base group—All parts that are static relative to the bottom plate
| To label a component, you must set the Creo Parametric part-level PDX_GROUP_LEVEL string parameter to TOP, GUIDE, or BASE. |
