Creating OSLC Links
You can create OSLC links in DocStudio.
To create a new OSLC link:
1. In the DocStudio view, select the item for which you want to create an OSLC link.
*
If you do not select an item in DocStudio when creating an OSLC link, the link is created between the document and OSLC resources.
2. In the Select Action list, select Edit OSLC Link.
3. In the Select an OSLC Server list, select the target OSLC server.
4. After selecting the target OSLC server, do the following:
When connected to the OSLC Server, navigate to the target resources. During navigation, the OSLC server provides query result based on the Query node selection for the requirements domain or the architecture domain. Select the required resources.
When connected to the Windchill OSLC Server, search for the Windchill parts or part versions. You can use the asterisk (*) wildcard to find the parts matching your criteria. You can also provide the exact part name or number in the search string. Select the Windchill parts or part versions returned in the search results. You can search on the OSLC fields that are specified as the value for the whereAttributes attribute (for example, "dcterms:title,oslc:shortId") in the OslcServers.xml file.
When connected to the OSLC Server after authentication, select a project. Select the requirements or requirement documents of the project to open the corresponding delegated UI for resource selection. You are prompted again to provide authentication credentials. After authentication, the delegated UI for resource selection displays columns for the requirements or requirement documents as per the mapped fields defined in the requirements-domain-mapping.json mapping file. You can also sort the fields in ascending or descending order for the OSLC fields that are specified as the values for the orderby attribute in the requirements-domain-mapping.json file. The requirements-domain-mapping.json file is utilized by the OSLC Server.
For more information on the orderby attribute, select attribute, where attribute and the requirements-domain-mapping.json file, see the Windchill RV&S OSLC Server guide.
*
A requirement that does not have any requirement document associated with it is marked as true under the ORPHANED column.
5. Click Proceed to link the selected resources with the item.
An OSLC link is created between the selected items and the OSLC resources.
The title of the resource preview window is based on the response obtained from the OSLC server. If an item contains multiple outgoing OSLC links, you can view them in different tabs of the same resource preview window. Maximum three tabs open fully in the resource preview window.
For the items, you can open the requirements or requirement documents in the Extended Web UI by clicking in the resource previews.
*
The Item Details view of Extended Web UI displays read-only information about the outgoing OSLC links.
