Architecture metadata (UPDM - NAF aliases)
Creation
To create an Architecture Metadata:
From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to NAF, point to All, and then click Architecture Metadata.
From a valid product diagram (see below): click the Architecture Metadata button, and then click in free space on the diagram.
To apply an Architecture Metadata to an Architectural Description or Service Description: click the Note Link button, click the Architecture Metadata, and then click the Architectural Description to which the Architecture Metadata applies.
After creating an Architecture Metadata, define the text of the Architecture Metadata through its Full Text property.

When shown on a valid product diagram (see below), an Architecture Metadata appears as follows:

On a diagram, use a Note Link to apply an Architecture Metadata to an Architectural Description or Service Description.
