Viewing the changes associated with a change note
You can view a Change Note's changes in two ways:
You can view them in the Changes tab of the Change Note's property pages, which allows you to sort the changes and navigate to affected items.
You can generate a textual report of the changes.
If you want to view only which items are affected by the Change Note, see Viewing the items affected by a change note.
To view a change note's changes in the changes tab:
1. Open the Change Note's property pages.
2. Click the Changes tab.
The changes are listed by Date/Time. You can click the column headings to sort the changes by user, description or items.
3. Ensure that you are not viewing a summary of the changes – if the Description column is blank, click the View Change Summary button, so that the button is not depressed.
4. If you want to view fully the description of a change (ellipses indicate that the full description is not shown):
Select the required change in the list, and then click the View Change Report button.
The description is displayed in a text window.
5. If you want to view the items affected by a change:
a. Select the required change.
b. Click the List Affected Items button.
The affected items are listed in the Results pane.
*
You can view all items affected by a Change Note's changes in the Relationships pane.
To generate a textual report of the changes:
Right-click the Change Note, point to Report, and then click Details.
The report is generated in the Output pane.
