Linking a swimlane to an item it represents (general flow diagram)
*
This topic applies to General Flow Diagrams.
In Studio 7.0 and earlier versions, General Flow Diagrams were named Activity Diagrams: If you created Activity Diagrams in Studio version 7.0 or earlier and have upgraded, your Activity Diagrams are now called General Flow Diagrams in Modeler.
Studio 7.1 included new Activity Diagrams, which you should use in preference to General Flow Diagrams. General Flow Diagrams are being deprecated and are included in Modeler only for backward compatibility.
Should you need to create General Flow Diagrams, they can now be created only from the Model or a Package.
To link a swimlane to an item it represents:
1. Open the Swimlane's Property Pages.
*
If the Swimlane is linked to an item, right-click the Swimlane, and then click Instance Properties.
2. On the General tab, click Select.
3. Select the required item, and the click OK.
Alternatively:
Drag the item to the Swimlane Name.
*
By default the name of the linked item is displayed on the diagram. You can display the name of the Swimlane through the View Options.
A Swimlane can be linked to only one item. If a Swimlane is linked to an item and you link it to a new item, the original link is lost.
If you link a diagram to a Swimlane, you can open that diagram by right-clicking the Swimlane and then clicking Open.
