Introduction to Integration for IBM Rational DOORS (Integration for IBM Rational DOORS)
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS integrates Modeler with IBM Rational® DOORS® (DOORS). For information about the supported versions of DOORS, see the Modeler Release Notes.
This integration extends the scope of DOORS to include the development of a Modeler model throughout the lifecycle of a project. Through Integration for IBM Rational DOORS you can link the requirements captured and maintained in DOORS with the dictionary items and diagrams (model elements) being developed in Modeler.
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS creates surrogate objects in the DOORS environment to represent model elements in Modeler, you can then create SysML traceability links between the DOORS requirements and these surrogate objects.
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS provides bidirectional synchronization of requirements (and their extensions) and traceability relationships:
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS can create DOORS requirements and traceability links from the SysML Requirements and traceability relationships defined in Modeler.
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS can create SysML Requirements and traceability relationships in the Modeler environment from the Requirements and traceability links defined in DOORS.
This bidirectional synchronization allows you to maintain your requirements and traceability relationships in DOORS, in Modeler, or in both environments.
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS allows you to define which item and diagram types, which property type, and which relationship types are included in a synchronization. After setting up the options for a synchronization, you can save those setting to an Integration for IBM Rational DOORS Mapping that can be used to perform future synchronizations with the same settings.
Integration for IBM Rational DOORS adds menu commands to DOORS and Modeler. These commands allow you to navigate between a model item and its associated surrogate object.
This help system assumes that you have a good working knowledge of Modeler and DOORS.

You may want to back up your Modeler model and DOORS project before using Integration for IBM Rational DOORS, in case the results of the synchronization are not as you expect.
