Unprotecting a model (Model Explorer)
You can unprotect a model through Model Explorer and Modeler.

When a model is protected, the Protect command is preceded with a check mark ().
Only the tip version of a model can be unprotected.
You can unprotect a model only if you have Write access permissions to that model and Write access permissions to each Package in that model.
To unprotect a model (through Model Explorer):
1. Start Model Explorer.
2. Locate the Model you want to unprotect:
a. Expand the SQL icon.
b. Expand the Server that owns the Model you want to unprotect.
If the Server that owns the Model is not shown, add the Server to Model Explorer.
c. Expand the Database that owns the Model you want to unprotect.
If the Database that owns the Model is not shown, show the server's databases and then optionally bookmark the Database.

3. Right-click the model you want to unprotect, and then click Protect.
The Protect command makes a protected model unprotected and makes an unprotected model protected.
To unprotect a model (through Modeler):
1. In Modeler, open the model you want to unprotect.

2. Click Manage > Protect Model.
The Protect Model button toggles the protection mode of a model.
