For automation interface purposes, the Anonymous property is an attribute of the Part instance or Port instance symbol.

This property specifies that a Part or Port instance represents a generic instance and you do not want to name it.

By default, new instances are not Anonymous.

On a Sequence Diagram, the Anonymous property prevents the instance name from being shown.

This property is set on the Options tab of a Part or Port instance's Property Pages. Alternatively, you can right-click an instance, and then select or clear the Anonymous Instance command. To view an instance's Property Pages, on the diagram, right-click the item, and then click Instance Properties.
