Adding probes to a sequence diagram
You can add a probe to a Sequence Diagram through the Sequence Diagram tab or through a drag-and-drop operation.
To add a probe to a new use case through the sequence diagram tab:
1. On the Sequence Diagram tab, click the

Include Probe button or

Extend Probe button.
2. In line with the required Statement, click the lifeline of the source Package or Instance.
To add a probe to an existing use case through the sequence diagram tab:
1. On the Sequence Diagram tab, click the

Extend Probe button.
2. In line with the required Statement, right-click the lifeline of the source Package or Instance.
3. From the Selection dialog, select the required Use Case, and then click OK.
To add a probe through a drag-and-drop operation:
1. Open the Sequence Diagram.
2. From an appropriate pane, drag the Use Case for which you want to add a probe to the source object on the Sequence Diagram.
3. From the context menu, click the Includes the Use Case or Extends the Use Case option as appropriate.
