Public read (property)

This property specifies that all users of the database can open the model.
Clearing the Public Read check box does not necessarily prevent Modeler users from opening the model. A Modeler user can open a model if any of the following conditions are true.
• The Public Read check box in Model Explorer is selected for the model's Database.
• The user is set up as a Database Administrator.
• The user has Owner access permissions to the model's Database.
• The user has Owner, Write or Read access permissions to the model.

This property is set on the Access Permissions tab of a model's Property Pages. Note that you select the model in either the Relationships pane or Package pane.
By default, the Public Read check box is selected in a new Model if no specific permission are set on the Database.
