Deleting a model (Model Explorer)
You can delete a complete model, or specific versions of a model through Model Explorer and Modeler.
When using the Delete command, Model Explorer deletes model versions as follows:
• When versions are not shown in Model Explorer, if you delete the trunk of a model, Model Explorer deletes the complete model.
• When versions are not shown in Model Explorer, if you delete the branch of a model, Model Explorer deletes all versions of that branch.
• When versions are shown in Model Explorer, if you delete a version of the model, Model Explorer deletes only that version.

You can delete a model only if you have Owner access permissions to that model and Owner access permissions to each Package in that model.

To delete a complete model - all versions (through Model Explorer):
1. Start Model Explorer.
2. Locate the model you want to delete.
a. Expand the SQL icon.
b. Expand the Server that owns the Model you want to delete.
If the Server that owns the Model is not shown, add the Server to Model Explorer.
c. Expand the Database that owns the Model you want to delete.
If the Database that owns the Model is not shown, show the server's databases and then optionally bookmark the Database.
3. Right-click the model you want to delete, and then click Delete.
4. From the Confirm Model Tree Delete dialog, review the trunk and branch versions of the model that are going to be deleted.
5. If you want to delete all versions of the model, click OK.
To delete a complete model - all versions (through Modeler):
1. In Modeler, open a version of the model family you want to delete.
2. On the Manage ribbon tab, click the arrow next Delete Model Version, and then click Delete Model Tree.
3. From the Confirm Model Tree Delete dialog, review the trunk and branch versions of the model that are going to be deleted.
4. If you want to delete all versions of the model, click OK.
To delete a version of a model (through Model Explorer):
1. Start Model Explorer.
2. On the Model Explorer toolbar, click the Show Versions button so that the button is depressed.
3. Locate the version of the model you want to delete:
a. Expand the SQL icon.
b. Expand the Server that owns the Model version you want to delete.
If the Server that owns the Model is not shown, add the Server to Model Explorer.
c. Expand the Database that owns the Model version you want to delete.
d. If the Database that owns the Model is not shown, show the server's databases and then optionally bookmark the Database.
e. Expand the model for which you want to delete a version.
Note that if you want to delete a version of a branch, expand the version of the model from which the branch was created. Note that the first number of a branch's version number is the trunk version from which it was branched.
4. Right-click the version of the model you want to delete, and then click Delete.
5. From the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
To delete a version of a model (through Modeler):
1. In Modeler, open the version of the model you want to delete.
2. On the Manage tab, click the Delete Model Version icon.
3. On the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
