Upgrade from Integrity Modeler 8.3, 8.4 or 8.5

You can perform a direct upgrade from Integrity Modeler 8.3 or later.

To migrate archived model export data after you upgrade to Windchill Modeler 9.3, you should consider maintaining an Integrity Modeler 8.3, 8.4 or 8.5 installation.

To upgrade to Windchill Modeler 9.3, follow the instructions for each installation type below.

For Server Only and Client Only installations:

1. Stop clients from connecting to the server by closing all firewall ports.

2. Use the Enabler Export tool to export repositories that you want to migrate.

3. Install an Windchill Modeler 9.3 Server Only installation on a new server machine.

4. Use the SQL Server Import tool to import Enabler export files that you created in step 2.

5. Install an Windchill Modeler 9.3 Client on a client machine, and point to the new server.

6. Run Integrity Modeler, and confirm that models can be opened and have been migrated correctly.

7. Install Windchill Modeler 9.3 clients on remaining client machines, pointing to the new server.

For a Standalone installation:

1. Use the Enabler Export tool to export repositories that you want to migrate.

2. Install the Windchill Modeler 9.3 Standalone.

3. Use the SQL Server Import tool to import Enabler Export files that you created in step 1.

4. Run Integrity Modeler, and confirm that models can be opened and have been migrated correctly.
