Creating a constraint parameter on a parametric diagram (SysML)
For information about creating Constraint Parameters through an appropriate pane, click here
When you create a Constraint Parameter, you can create it in the following ways:
• Using an existing Value Type as a type.
• Using a new Value Type as a type.
• Untyped - when you create an untyped Constraint Parameter, at a future time you must specify a type for it.
To create a constraint parameter using an existing value type as a type:
1. Open the Parametric Diagram.
2. On the diagram's tab, click the
Constraint Parameter button.
3. Click the Constraint Property for which you want to create the Constraint Parameter.
4. Select the Existing Type option, and then select the Value Type you want to use as a type, and then click OK.
5. Type the name of the Constraint Parameter, and then press the Enter key.
Alternatively,
1. Open the Parametric Diagram.
2. In an appropriate pane, locate the Value Type that you want to use as a type for the Constraint Parameter.
3. Drag the Value Type to the appropriate Constraint Property on the Parametric Diagram.
4. Name of the Constraint Parameter as required.
The Constraint Parameter is created as a child of the Constraint Block that is the Constraint Property's type.
To create a constraint parameter using a new value type as a type:
1. Open the Parametric Diagram.
2. On the diagram's tab, click the
Constraint Parameter button.
3. Click the Constraint Property for which you want to create the Constraint Parameter.
4. Select the New Type option.
5. In the Type list, select the type of the Value Type you want to create and use as a type.
6. In the Name box, type the name of the Value Type that is going to be created and used as a type.
7. Click OK.
8. Type the name of the Constraint Parameter, and then press the Enter key.
The Constraint Parameter is created as a child of the Constraint Block that is the Constraint Property's type.
To create an untyped constraint parameter:
1. Open the Parametric Diagram.
2. On the diagram's tab, click the
Constraint Parameter button.
3. Click the Constraint Property for which you want to create the Constraint Parameter.
4. Select the Untyped option, and then click OK.
5. Type the name of the Constraint Parameter, and then press the Enter key.
