State type (property)
For automation interface information about the State Type property (UML State Type through automation interface), see the automation interface topic for a State in the Related Topics.
The State Type property allows you to change the type of an Atomic State, Concurrent State or Sequential State:
An Atomic State can be changed to a Concurrent State or Sequential State.
If an Atomic State owns a State Diagram, the State Diagram is deleted.
A Concurrent State can be changed to an Atomic State or Sequential State.
If a Concurrent State's child Sequential States own any items, you cannot change the Concurrent State to an Atomic State.
A Sequential State can be changed to a Concurrent State or Sequential State.
If a Sequential State owns any items, you cannot change the Sequential State to an Atomic or Concurrent State.
It is useful to be able to change the State Type of a State during the development of a State Diagram.
By default, the State Type is determined by which type of State you create.
This property is set on the State Type tab of an Atomic State's, Concurrent State's or Sequential State's Property Pages.
