Linking a package with a board
The direction of the link between a Package and a Board determines whether the link means:
The Package owns the Board, or
The Package's software resides on the Board.
To create a link that models the Package owning the Board:
Drag the Board to the Package, or perform the following:
1. Right-click the Package, and select Links > Dictionary Items.
2. In the Types list, select Boards.
3. In the left pane, select the appropriate folder or Package to display the required Board.
4. In the middle or right pane, select the check boxes associated with the Boards you want to link.
5. In the middle or right pane, clear the check boxes associated with the Boards you want to unlink.
6. Click OK.
Alternatively, you can right-click the Board, and then click Scope to Package. Select the required Package, and then click OK.
To create a link that models the Package's software residing on the Board:
Drag the Package to the Board, or perform the following:
1. Right-click the Board, and select Links > Dictionary Items.
2. In the Types list, select Packages.
3. In the left pane, select the appropriate folder, Package or diagram to display the required Package.
4. In the middle or right pane, select the check boxes associated with the Packages you want to link.
5. In the middle or right pane, clear the check boxes associated with the Packages you want to unlink.
6. Click OK.
