Creating a join node
You can create a Join Node through an Activity Diagram or a Modeler pane.
To create a join node through an activity diagram:
1. On the Activity Diagram tab, click the 
Join Node button, and then on the Activity Diagram click in free space or within an Activity Partition, Interruptible Activity Region or Structured Activity Node.

3. You can change the orientation of the Join Node through the its View Options: right-click the Join Note, click View Options, and in the Control Node entry, in the Symbol Orientation group, select Vertical or Horizontal.
To create a join node through a Modeler pane:
1. In a Modeler pane, right-click the Activity or Structure Activity Node that is to own the Join Node, and select > > .
2. Type the name of the Join Node, and then press the Enter key.
On an Activity Diagram you can change the orientation of the Join Node through the its View Options: right-click the Join Node, click View Options, and in the Control Node entry, in the Symbol Orientation group, select Vertical or Horizontal.
