Changing a part's type on a composite structure diagram
If a Part or Port contains a Part whose type is a super Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal, you can change the contained Part's type from the super item to one of its sub items. Note that having changed a Part's type to a sub item, you cannot then change the Part's type back to the super item, except through an edit undo operation.
To change a part's type:
1. Open the Composite Structure Diagram that shows the Part whose type you want to change.
2. In the Packages pane, locate the sub item (Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal) of the Part's type.
3. Drag the sub item to the Name or Type of the Part on the Composite Structure Diagram.
