Moving a Server to a Different Computer
This task copies the data from one server to another server on a different computer.
You must create a new server on the target computer through an Integrity Modeler Server Only installation.
To Move a Server to a Different Computer:
On the source computer:
1. Start Model Explorer. See Starting Model Explorer (Model Explorer).
2. Ensure that no users are using any of the models on the server.
3. Back up each database on the server using Model Explorer. See Backing up a database (Model Explorer).
4. Copy the backup files and the ModelerATFiles folder to a network folder that can be accessed from the target computer.
The ModelerATFiles folder is located at the following location:
C:\ProgramData\PTC Integrity Modeler\ModelerATFiles
On the target computer:
1. Perform a Server Only installation of Modeler ensuring that you use the same installation folders as those used on the source computer.
2. Copy the ModelerATFiles folder that you created on the source computer to the C:\ProgramData\PTC Integrity Modeler\ModelerATFiles folder on the target server. Overwrite any files on the target computer.
3. On the target computer, start Model Explorer, then do the following tasks:
a. Restore the databases using the backup files you created on the source computer. See Restoring a database (Model Explorer).
b. Start the databases that have been added to the server. See Starting a database (Model Explorer).
c. Right-click on the server, and then click Show All Databases.
d. Bookmark the databases: right-click the database, and then click Bookmark.
The server you moved is available on the target computer.
