This property specifies the Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal for which the Instance is an instance.
Depending on how the Instance was created, an Instance Type may or may not be specified:
If the Instance was created through the context menu of the Model or a Package, or through the Instance button on the Object Diagram toolbar, the Instance Type is blank.
If the Instance was created through the context menu of a Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal, or through the Populate > Create Instances of Parts command on an Object Diagram, the Instance Type is set to the appropriate Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal.
When an Instance is shown on an Object Diagram, the Instance Type is shown after the name of the instance.
This property is set on the Type tab of an Instance's Property Pages.
