Action (property)
For automation interface information about the Action property (Real RTF through the automation interface), see the automation interface topic for an Event Action Block in the Related Topics.
This property specifies the code that is executed when an Event Action Block trigger fires and any guard conditions are met.
By default, the Action box is blank.
On a State Diagram, the syntax of an Event Action Block is determined by the Trigger Type; however, the Action always appears after the slash mark. For example, the syntax of an Event Action Block for a Call Trigger Type is as follows:
<operation name>[<guard condition>]/<action>
You use the Code Editor to edit Action code. For information about the Code Editor, including setting the code language to use, see Overview of the code editor.
This property is set on the Options tab of an Event Action Block's Property Pages. You can click the Edit button and change the code in the Code Editor window. In addition, you can add model object references to the Action code.
Notes
On the Property Pages, the Editor button associated with the Action box allows you to change the Action in a text window.
The Action property supports Rich Text, so you can format the text and use model object references.
To change an Action from the State Diagram, right-click the Event Action Block, point to Edit, and then click Action.
The following section provides information about the items and diagrams for which Action is a property. For more information about an item or diagram, click it.
