OSLC Link and Surrogate Behavior
Canonical links and versioning of linked remote items
OSLC Links and Surrogates link to the latest version of items in DOORS. If a linked item in DOORS is versioned, existing OSLC Links and Surrogates in Modeler models will link to the new (latest) item version.
OSLC Links and Surrogates link to the latest version of items in Integrity Lifecycle Manager. If a linked item in Integrity Lifecycle Manager is versioned, existing OSLC Links and Surrogates in Modeler models will link to the new (latest) item version.
OSLC Links and Surrogates link to the latest version of items in DOORS Next Generation. If a linked item in DOORS Next Generation is versioned, existing OSLC Links and Surrogates in Modeler models will link to the new (latest) item version.
For Integrity Modeler, OSLC Links and Surrogates link to items in a specific model version or the current model version. When creating OSLC Links and Surrogates to Integrity Modeler data, the links can point to specific model versions (e.g. v0, ) or point to the canonical (also known as current) model version.
Canonical links point to the latest model version, even if new model versions are created in the future. In the OSLC browser, the current model version node is used to create canonical links.
Model version links point to a specific model version, even if new model versions are created.
Using Private Sandboxes with OSLC Links and Surrogates
When a private sandbox model is created from a model with OSLC Links and Surrogates, the OSLC Links and Surrogates are copied forward to the private sandbox model. OSLC Links and Surrogates can then be added or removed within the private sandbox.
When a private sandbox with OSLC Links and Surrogates is reconciled to the trunk, the OSLC Links and Surrogates within the sandbox are copied forward to the new trunk version.
Cloning Modeler models that contain OSLC Links and Surrogates
When a Modeler model with OSLC Links and Surrogates is versioned, the OSLC Links and Surrogates are copied forward to the new model version.
Importing and Exporting Models and Packages with OSLC Links and Surrogates.
When a model that contains OSLC Links or Surrogates is exported, the links are also exported. The OSLC Links and Surrogates can be imported into Modeler. When a user accesses an OSLC Link or Surrogate, they will need to login to the remote system to access the data.
When a package that contains OSLC Links or Surrogates is exported, the links are also exported. The OSLC Links and Surrogates can be imported into Modeler. When a user accesses an OSLC Link or Surrogate, they will need to login to the remote system to access the data.
Access Permissions
When you view OSLC Links and Surrogates, you must have the relevant access permissions for that data in the remote system.
