Modeler OSLC consumer capabilities
Integrity Modeler includes capabilities that allow it to consume OSLC resources, meaning Modeler users can connect to an external system that supports OSLC, such as PTC Integrity Lifecycle Manager, and view the data within that system.
In addition, Modeler users are able to create OSLC Links to items in those external systems to capture and describe dependencies and relationships between design information. This allows for full lifecycle traceability across different domains and clear visibility into the impact of design changes.
Modeler users can also create OSLC Surrogates, which are model items that act as placeholders, or proxies, for data stored in an external OSLC-compliant system. OSLC Surrogates can be used as native model items (e.g. can be added to diagrams, have relationships) but the actual definition of those items (properties, ownership, history etc.) resides in another external system.
A conceptual diagram of Integrity Modeler OSLC integration is shown below.
Note that it is also possible to link to web resources or data in web-based system using HTML Links and HTML Surrogates.
