Creating an instance on an object diagram
You can create an Instance on a diagram through a drag-and-drop operation, or through the Object Diagram toolbar.

To create an instance on an object diagram through a drag-and-drop operation:
1. Open the Object Diagram on which you want to create the Instance.
2. In Packages pane, locate the Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal that is to be the classifier of the Instance.
3. Drag the Class, Data Type, Interface or Signal from the Packages pane, to the Object Diagram.
4. Open the Instance's Property Pages and name the Instance as required.
To create an instance on an object diagram through the object diagram toolbar:
1. On the Object Diagram toolbar, click the
Instance button.
2. On the Object Diagram, click in free space.
3. Type the name of the Instance, and then on the keyboard press the Enter key.
