Get latest command (CM tool integration)
This command gets the latest version of a Package (or Model) from the CM tool Model, so that the Package in the Modeler Model is the same as the Package in the CM tool Model.
This command appears on the context menu when you right-click a Model or Package, and then point to Tools > Configuration Management.
A get latest operation overwrites the Modeler Package and its content. A get latest operation does not change the Protected status of the Package in Modeler, and it does not change checked out status of the Package in the CM tool Model.
You can update the complete Modeler Model by performing a get latest operation on the Model icon in Modeler, ensuring that you get sub-Packages and new sub-Packages. You can get a Package only if that Package is under configuration control.
When you perform a get latest operation, you have the option to include sub-Packages and new sub-Packages. For more information, click here
To perform a get latest operation on a Package, you require:
In the CM tool, write access to the Package. Packages must be checked in or checked out to a different Modeler Model.
In Modeler, Owner access permissions to the Package.
In Modeler - Database Write access permissions to get any associated published Tag Definitions that are not present in the Model.
*
If you get an item without having the database access properties required to get its associated published Tag Definitions, you will not be able to view the tagged values set for those Tag Definitions. If Modeler cannot get a published Tag Definition, it is reported in the Output pane.
*
The time taken to perform a get latest operation will be reduced if you have write access to the Model and each Package in that Model, and in each case the Model or Package is not protected.
*
To use this command you require a Modeler license and a CM Integration license. In addition, this command is not available when the CM tool integration is disabled - you can enable and disable the CM tool integration through the Enable Configuration Management Integration check box on the General tab of the Tool Options dialog.
