Relationships to synchronize page (Integration for IBM Rational DOORS)
This page of Integration for IBM Rational DOORS allows you to specify which traceability relationships from the SysML profile, and which model item relationships are included in the synchronization.
Each relationship is exported to the DOORS project as a link. To minimize synchronization times and the size of surrogate modules in DOORS, only synchronize relationship types that are relevant.
If you are performing impact analysis in DOORS, you may want to include the Scoping Item, Dependee and Dependent association types.
*
Non-traceability relationships can be exported to DOORS, but not imported to Modeler. If you export non-traceability relationships to DOORS, the links that are created in DOORS will be deleted if you perform a synchronization that has the link direction set to DOORS -> Modeler.
In addition to the common navigation buttons, the following controls appear on this page of Integration for IBM Rational DOORS:
Traceability Types list - lists the traceability relationships that are added to a model through the SysML profile. Select the check boxes associated with the traceability relationships you want to include in the synchronization.
For more information about the traceability relationships, see the SysML section of this Help.
Association Types list - lists the relationships that relate to the item, diagram and Stereotype types you selected on the Types to Synchronize page, including relationships created through reference Tag Definitions for Stereotypes. You can expand each association type to see the item, diagram and Stereotype types to which the association type applies.
For more information about a listed association type, see the Automation Interface > Object Attributes and Associations (Item Properties and Links) section of the Help.
Select the check boxes associated with the association types you want to include in the synchronization.
*
For traceability, you may find it useful to include the Scoping Item association type, so that for each item you can easily identify its parent item.
Link Synchronization Direction options (applies only to the Traceability Types, not the Association Types):
Modeler <-> DOORS option - specifies that traceability relationships created or changed in Modeler are exported to DOORS, and traceability links created or changed in DOORS are imported to Modeler.
Use this option when you want to be able to change traceability relationships in either the Modeler model or the DOORS module, and then have those traceability relationships synchronized so that they match in Modeler and DOORS.
DOORS ->Modeler option - specifies that traceability links created or changed in DOORS are imported to Modeler.
Use this option when you are maintaining your traceability relationships only in the DOORS surrogate module, or when you want to import your DOORS traceability relationships to a Modeler model the first time.
Modeler -> DOORS option - specifies that traceability relationships created or changed in Modeler are exported to DOORS.
Use this option when you are maintaining your traceability relationships only in the Modeler model, or when you want to export your traceability relationships to a DOORS surrogate module the first time.
