Admin Audit Logs (Model Explorer)
The Admin Audit Logs dialog
*
Only Modeler System Administrators and SQL Server Administrators can access this dialog.
When you click the Admin Audit Logs... button on Monitor Databases dialog, the Admin Audit Logs dialog opens and displays the following information:
User Name — The user name.
Task Name — The name of the task performed on a database.
Input Parameters — The input parameters required for the task, such as, the name of the database on which the particular task was performed.
Task Output — The output of the task.
Additional Info — The name of the database that has been restored.
Start Time — The date and time when the task began.
End Time — The date and time when the task ended.
When you open this dialog, by default the list displays information for the past 30 days, but only the first 1000 entries are displayed. If there are more entries, they are displayed when you reach the ninth page of the list and the page count is updated accordingly. You can filter the list in the following ways:
User Name — Enter the user name and click Apply Filter to display a list of operations that this user has performed on a database. You can also perform a search by entering a partial user name.
Start Date and End Date — Select the check boxes, enter the date range, and click Apply Filter to display a list of all operations performed on databases between the specified dates. If you select and enter only the Start Date, the dialog displays all tasks that are performed from the specified date to the current date. By default, only the Start Date check box is selected when the dialog opens. When none of the check boxes are selected, the list displays all available entries for all available dates.
Search — When you type the search string, the columns are filtered with all entries that match the string. To filter content from the Task Name column, enter the string without any spaces.
The following are other functions that you can perform with this dialog:
Export to CSV — Saves the list as a .CSV file to a selected location. You can also save the filtered list that you have created using the above filter options, except for the Search option.
Delete Logs — Deletes the database logs.
*
Only SQL Server Administrators can delete audit logs. This button is disabled for other users.
Close — Closes the Admin Audit Logs dialog and reverts to the Monitor Databases dialog.
