Creating a refine relationship through a pane (UML Standard profile)

This topic provides information for specifying items that refine other items through an appropriate pane. For information about creating refine relationships through a diagram, see Creating a refine relationship on a diagram (UML Standard profile).

To specify items that refine an item:

1. Right-click the item, and select Links > Traceability > Refines.

2. For each item that refines the item you right-clicked:

a. In the Link Items browser, select the item.

b. Click the Link button.

3. Click OK.

Alternatively,

1. Right-click the item, and then select Links > Start Link.

2. For each item that refines the item you right-clicked:

a. Right-click the item, and then select Links > End Link.

b. From the Relationship list, select Refines, and then click OK.

To specify items that are refined by an item:

1. Right-click the item, and select Links > Traceability > Refined By.

2. For each item that is refined by the item you right-clicked:

a. In the Link Items browser, select the item.

b. Click the Link button.

3. Click OK.

Alternatively,

1. Right-click the item, and then select Links > Start Link.

2. For each item that refines the item you right-clicked:

a. Right-click the item, and then select Links > End Link.

b. From the Relationship list, select Refined By, and then click OK.
