Moving a Database to a Different Server
*
If the database has models that contains OSLC links, use the OSLC links editor tool after moving the database to the new server to ensure that the links do not break.
On the source server:
1. In Windows Explorer, locate the ModelerATFiles folder for the database you are moving.
If you have installed Modeler to the default location, the path of the ModelerATFiles folder for the database is as follows: C:\ProgramData\PTC Integrity Modeler\ModelerATFiles\<database name>
2. Start Model Explorer. See Starting Model Explorer (Model Explorer).
3. Ensure that no users are using any of the models on the server.
4. Back up each database on the server using Model Explorer. See Backing up a database (Model Explorer).
5. Copy the model folders that appear in the database ModelerATFiles folder to the folder you copied the database backup file to.
On the target server
1. In Windows Explorer, locate the ModelerATFiles folder for the database you are moving.
If you have installed Modeler to the default location, the path of the ModelerATFiles folder for the database is as follows: C:\ProgramData\PTC Integrity Modeler\ModelerATFiles\
2. Copy the model folders you copied from the source server to the preceding ModelerATFiles folder for the database.
3. On the target computer, start Model Explorer, then do the following tasks:
a. Restore the databases using the backup file you created on the source computer. See Restoring a database (Model Explorer).
b. Right-click on the server, and then click Show All Databases.
c. Bookmark the database: right-click the database, and then click Bookmark.
The database you moved is available on the target server.
