Data dictionary table (Utilities profile)
The Data Dictionary Table allows you to view the properties of select item and diagram types that appear in selected Packages.
Each time you open a Data Dictionary Table, Modeler creates the table using the latest data from the model.
By default, Modeler generates a Data Dictionary Table as HTML and opens the table in your internet browser. You can set up a model so that Modeler generates a Data Dictionary Table as an Excel spreadsheet that is opened in Excel. If you do this, the generated spreadsheet has a sheet for each item and diagram type.
To create a data dictionary table:
Right-click the Package that is to own the Data Dictionary Table, and select > > > .
To select which diagram and items types appear in the data dictionary table:
1. Right-click the Data Dictionary Table, and select > .
2. From the dialog, select the item and diagram types that you want to include in the Data Dictionary Table.
To add an image to a data dictionary table:
1. Right-click the Data Dictionary Table, and select > .
2. From the dialog, select an diagram image file (BMP, PNG, or ICO).
To select which packages are used to find items and diagrams for the data dictionary table:
1. Right-click the Data Dictionary Table, and select > .
2. From the dialog, select the Packages from which you want to find items and diagrams to include in the Data Dictionary Table.
To select which properties are shown in data dictionary table:
1. Right-click the Data Dictionary Table, and select > .
2. From the Profile Column Editor dialog, select the properties you want to show in the Data Dictionary Table.
To specify column widths in the data dictionary table:
1. Right-click the Data Dictionary Table, and select > .
2. In the dialog, enter the desired column width for each property in the Width (%) fields.
To set up a model so that a data dictionary table is generated as an Excel spreadsheet:
1. In the Packages pane, right-click the Model, and select > > .
2. To generate Data Dictionary Tables as Excel spreadsheets for viewing in Excel, from the Matrix/Table Generation Format list, select Excel_XLS.
To generate Data Dictionary Tables as HTML for viewing in your internet browser, from the Matrix/Table Generation Format list, select HyperTextMarkupLanguage_HTML.
3. Click OK.
To generate a data dictionary table:
Right-click the Data Dictionary Table, and then click Open.
