SV-10a Resource constraints specification (UPDM - MODAF aliases)
Creation
To create an SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification:
• Right-click the
Architectural Description or
Service Description that is to own the SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification, point to New, point to Matrix/Table, point to MODAF, and then click SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification.
When you open an SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification, Modeler can generate it as HTML for viewing in your Internet browser, or generate it as a spreadsheet for viewing in Microsoft Excel. To specify how matrices and tables are opened for a model: in the Packages pane, right-click the Model, point to > > , and then select HyperTextMarkupLanguage_HTML or Excel_XLS.
Each time you open an SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification, Modeler generates the product using the latest data from the model.
Purpose
On an SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification:
• View which
Resource Constraint elements are applied to the system elements that are shown in the table.
Elements Shown
The table can show the following system elements:
Capability Configuration,
Energy,
Exchange Element,
Function,
Geo Political Extent Type,
Materiel,
Node,
Organization,
Physical Architecture,
Post,
Resource Artifact,
Role Type,
Service Access and
Software elements.
For each system element, the SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification shows the
Resource Constraint elements that are applied to that system element.
For information about how to apply a Resource Constraint to a system element, see the
Resource Constraint topic.
Analyzed Packages
By default, the SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification searches for system elements that are contained within the Architectural Description or Service Description that owns the SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification.
To search for system elements from other Architectural Description and Service Description packages:
• Right-click the SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification, point to Links, and then click Analyzed Packages. From the Links Editor, select the Architectural Description and Service Description packages from which you want to search for system elements.
Example
In this example, the model is set up to generate tables and matrices as Excel spreadsheets. The Architectural Description that owns SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification1 contains two system elements, Software1 and Software2. Software1 has Resource Constraint1 applied to it, Software2 does not have any Resource Constraint elements applied to it.
When the Excel spreadsheet is generated for SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification1, you can see from the table that Software1 has Resource Constraint1 applied to it, and Software2 does not have any Resource Constraint elements applied to it.
The following sections provide information about how an SV-10a Resource Constraints Specification is used in the model.
