Items
According to the SysML 2.0 specification, an item is a kind of occurrence that defines a class of identifiable objects that may be acted on over time, but which do not necessarily perform actions themselves. Items can be used to represent inputs and outputs to actions such as water, fuel, electrical signals, and data. An item may have attributes, states, and nested items. Items that perform an action is modeled as a part but not all items are modeled as parts.
Creating an Item
To create an Item from the System Structure Diagram toolbar:
1. On the System Structure Diagram toolbar, click the Item button.
2. Click on the diagram canvas to create the Item.
To create an Item from the context menu in a Package browser:
Right-click on the element for which you want to create the Item, and select New > SysML2 > Item.
