Updating packages (CM tool integration)
You update Modeler Packages through a get operation, which leaves the Modeler Packages as read-only.
To get Modeler Packages:
1. From Modeler, right-click the Package you want to get, select Tools > Configuration Management, and then click Get Latest
2. If you want to also get descendent Packages of the Package you right-clicked, select the Get Sub-packages check box. Note that this gets only descendent Packages that are present in the Modeler Model.
3. If you want to get new descendent Packages that exist in the CM tool Model, but not the Modeler Model, select the Get New Packages check box.
4. Click OK.
5. If a message about users being able to change the Packages in Modeler is displayed, click OK.
*
To get a Package, you require read access to the CM tool Package, and Owner access permissions to the Modeler Package.
The Package must be checked in, or checked out to another Modeler Model.
If problems occur during a get operation, the problems are reported through either the Modeler Output pane or message boxes.
After performing a get latest operation with Serena Version Manager, the message in the Modeler Output pane mistakenly states that a check out operation has been performed.
The time taken to perform a get latest operation will be reduced if you have write access to the Model and each Package in that Model, and in each case the Model or Package is not protected.
