About the Spell Check Dictionaries

Working with PTC Mathcad Prime > Spell Check > About the Spell Check Dictionaries

Spell check uses a default system dictionary to look-up suggested correct spelling of misspelled words. Users cannot edit this dictionary file.

In addition, spell check can consult an optional custom dictionary about words that the user adds and wants spell check to ignore. Users can edit this dictionary to add or delete words.

Words that you add to the custom dictionary will not be marked as misspelled in any text region in current and all other worksheets that you open using the same computer.

• You can open the context menu and select Ignore to ignore a misspelled word in the current text region.

• To delete the custom dictionary, close PTC Mathcad Prime, and then delete the MathcadDictionary.lex file.
