Note: See Agent Update above that addresses this issue.
As a result of a recently disclosed vulnerability impacting Windows OpenSSH CVE-2024-38029, the Kepware Edge Agent installer for Windows will fail to install on operating systems updated on or after 10/08/2024 following a patch delivery (Windows KB5044288).
• The vulnerability is not directly related to Kepware code or products; however due to extended Microsoft dependencies, it introduces a compatibility issue with Kepware's Windows Agent and updated Microsoft operating systems.
• Customers with an agent already installed on a Windows should not see any impact.
• An installed agent being updated should have no impact.
• The Kepware Edge Agent installer for Windows should not fail on an OS without the 10/08/2024 patch updates.
• The Kepware Edge Agent installer for Linux is unaffected.
