Creating and Extending 3D Animations
Creating and Extending an Animation in 3D Mode
The Edit animation command can be used to create 3D animations for all the objects of a drawing in 3D mode.
As objects with object information are usually loaded during the structured importing or placing of files in IGES, VRML, and Wavefront formats, no preparations are required for creating an animation.
You can use the transformation tools for animation and set a wide range of attributes. You can also prepare playback so that the animation can be started and stopped as required.
You will have already completed the exercises on 2D animation in Drawing Basics Tutorial, and should be familiar with the editing dialogs and settings. If you have not yet created the exercise’s animation, the following exercise on animation also provides a detailed overview of the necessary steps.
The 3D animation in the exercise is to be created in two steps.
The animation in exercise 1 shows how parts of an assembly are dismantled (moved) during a disassembly sequence.
This animation is extended in exercise 2. In the extended animation, the parts are highlighted in color before they are moved. Once a part has been moved, the colored highlighting is reset.
