Working with a Free View and Free Axis
Rotating a Drawing Freely in the Coordinate System and Moving Parts to a Freely Selected Axis
The previous exercise illustrated how parts can be moved or exploded along one of the coordinate system's axes.
It is often the case that parts are only visible from a certain perspective. However, the available projection options such as Isometric view top and Isometric view bottom may not provide the view required to bring the parts into view.
This exercise illustrates how any view can be selected using the 3D Move tool. Parts are then to be exploded in this view. Because the intended move axis for the parts is outside the X, Y, and Z coordinate axes, the relevant axis is selected using the 3D Select axis (through the origin) tool. The parts are then exploded (moved) along this axis.
