Automatically Creating Bodies
Creating Bodies in any Perspective Using a 2D View

The Extrusion tool introduced in this exercise automatically creates a body from a 2D view.
Extrusion gives all elements in the 2D view the same depth. The tool is therefore suitable for bodies that exhibit an even contour over their entire length such as profiles.
The first exercise involves using the 2D view of a profile to create a body without hidden edges and with a defined length.
The second exercise involves rotating the body into an orientation outside the major isometric axes. This will introduce the functions available in the 3D mode of Arbortext IsoDraw.
If you wish to draw the profile view yourself, the key dimensions can be found in the figure at the top of the next page. The length of the profile should be 25 mm. You should already be familiar with the tools and functions required to draw the profile.
Alternatively, you can use the front plane drawing that is provided. The file is located in the Arbortext-IsoDraw-install-path\Tutorial\Tutorial IsoDraw folder.
