Isometry
 
The particular advantage of isometry is that all the lines that are parallel on the technical drawing, and therefore also on the part, are also parallel in the isometric representation. This simplifies drawing and has the advantage that, once a part has been drawn, it can then be moved around the drawing area as required. In vanishing point perspective, because the drawing changes as it is moved around the drawing area, the entire part has to be redrawn if it is to be repositioned (see the previous figure on the left).
