Working with Rotational Surfaces
From a Cross-Sectional Drawing to a Perspective Body

If a part which is to be drawn is rotationally symmetrical, a simplified illustration of the longitudinal cross-section of the part is sufficient to easily generate the appropriate body in any perspective orientation using the Rotational surfaces tool.
*
A body is rotationally symmetrical if circles are obtained at any conceivable cross-section perpendicular to the axis of symmetry.
For example, if you have a cross-sectional drawing from CAD data or a matching view available, you can use the outline of the drawing for the Rotational surfaces tool.
Using the simple example of a flange, this exercise will demonstrate the options offered by this tool. You can create the entire body or a body segment. In both cases, you can select any perspective you wish for the depiction of the body.
The file containing the ready-drawn outline can be found in the Arbortext-IsoDraw-install-path\Tutorial\Tutorial IsoDraw folder.
