Creating Object Info and Hotspots
Producing Object Info and Hotspots for Depicting Parts in a Spare Part Drawing

Arbortext IsoDraw allows object information to be assigned to an element or a group of elements.
This information can then be used in conjunction with other programs (e.g. an Internet application).
If drawings are being used for electronic data (e.g. an electronic spare parts catalog), the object information (e.g. name, part number) can be made available to the user. Creating a hotspot for the object as well as object information enables interactive documents to be produced. In interactive documents, the hotspot region is used to trigger an action. Clicking on the region executes the action, which could involve, e.g. moving to another page of the catalog or displaying all parts list information.
These exercises introduce two options for creating object information and hotspots.
The first example involves individually assigning object info, including a hotspot, to part drawings (groups) via a dialog box.
In the second example, callouts are assigned to the part drawings, then hotspots are generated automatically for the text elements of the callouts.
