Entering Callouts for the Parts of a Spare Parts Diagram

In the technical illustrations of spare parts catalogs and instructions, parts usually have to be positioned. This aspect of drawing work becomes incredibly laborious when it has to be done by hand, particularly in the case of large spare parts catalogs.
The automatic numbering scheme of Arbortext IsoDraw’s Callout tool makes positioning parts easy. When specifying the callout style, there are several options available for displaying the callout element and configuring/designing the callout numbers.
The first part of this exercise involves specifying the callout style. The style is then applied to the callout elements that are to be used in the drawing.
If you want to practice entering callouts, you can use the ready-prepared spare parts diagram. The file callout.idr contains the ready-drawn diagram and can be found in the Arbortext-IsoDraw-install-path\Tutorial\Tutorial IsoDraw folder.
The figure on the last page of this section illustrates the spare parts diagram with callouts. All the parts in this figure have been assigned callouts. Identical parts have been given only one callout.
