Service Pack Permissions
For users to download or roll back service packs, they must have the Download permission. By default, the Download permission is allowed for the everyone group. This setting does not generally need to be changed.
If users are denied the
Download permission, they cannot download (or roll back) any service packs, even those that are mandatory. Without a mandatory service pack, the
Integrity Lifecycle Manager client would not be allowed to connect to the server and the user would not be able to perform any operations. For more information on the
mks:patch ACL, see
“Service Pack ACL”.
|
As administrator, you must ensure users are allowed the Download permission if you make any service packs mandatory. You should retain the default settings for the mks:patch ACL if you intend to make service packs mandatory. The default setting ensures that users have access to the available service packs.
|
Users are prompted automatically to download available HotFixes and client service packs (or roll back if required) whenever they access the server through the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client graphical user and command line interfaces, or through the Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client interface.
|
For the Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client, an alternate method is to download (or roll back) service packs using the integrity updateclient command.
|
The im updateclient and si updateclient commands can also be used for updating the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client. For more information on downloading service packs using the command line interface, see the CLI man pages.
