To Define and Run a Mold Base Opening Simulation
1. Click EMX Assembly > Mold Base Opening Simulation. The Mold Base Opening Simulation dialog box opens.
2. Enter a value for Total Opening. This is the distance the mold machine clamping plates move.
3. Enter a value for Step Width. This is the increment by which to increase the mold base opening, to create a frame for the animation, and to run an interference check.
4. When you select a line in the Simulation Groups tree, all the components in the group are listed in the right pane and are highlighted in both the tree and the graphics window.
5. Select a check box to set an interference check for each step:
Do not check interference—Does not set an interference check.
Check refmodel interference—Checks the interference between the reference model and all other models.
Check interference for all models—Sets a global interference check. It takes longer than the other two options.
*
Screws usually interfere with the component they are tapped into, therefore, it is a good idea to select Ignore screws for check to prevent unwanted results.
6. Click to start the simulation. Results appear in the Resulting Steps table.
7. Click a line in the Resulting Steps table to advance the animation by a single step and to highlight interference in the graphic window.
8. Click to open the Creo ParametricSimulation dialog box and run the animation.
9. Click Close to close the dialog box.
