About Layers and Simplified Representations
Working with complex or large mold base assemblies can become complicated. Use layers and simplified representations to facilitate the process.
Set the CREATE_LAYER_PER_PART and CREATE_GROUP_LAYER configuration options to YES, to automatically create a layer for each model and a group layer for component groups. Two main layers are created by default, one for Moving Half, and one for Fixed Half. All components are placed on one of these layers. To name the layers, set the configuration options NAME_MOVING_HALF and NAME_FIX_HALF to yes.
Two simplified representations, using the same names as the layers, are automatically created when you create the layers. In Creo Parametric click View > View Manager to rename or redefine them.
To redefine a layer or a simple representation, click EMX Assembly > Add Component to, and then click to remove a component from the Fixed Half simplified representation and place it in the Moving Half simplified representation, or click to remove a component from the Moving Half simplified representation and place it in the Fixed Half simplified representation.
To define the display of a simplified representation, click EMX Assembly > Show, and then choose a display option:
Moving Half—Displays the Moving Half simplified representation.
Fixed Half—Displays the Fixed Half simplified representation.
Master View—Displays the Master representation.
