To Manage Artifact Parameters
Managing Parameters in the Properties Dialog Box
1. In the Catalog Explorer, the Model Explorer, or in a sheet, select an object.
2. In the Catalog Explorer or the sheet, right-click and choose Properties from the shortcut menu, or click the Artifact Parameters tab in the Model Explorer. The Properties dialog box opens.
3. To apply a new artifact parameter:
a. Click Add from the Parameter area of the dialog box. The Parameter Selector dialog box opens.
b. Select the parameter to add and click OK. The Parameter Selector dialog box closes and the parameter appears in the parameter list.
4. To modify an artifact parameter value:
a. Select the parameter to modify.
b. Type a value in the Parameter value box.
c. Click the Unset button to set the value as unset, or click the Choose Value button to select a value from the list.
d. Click .
5. To add values to the value list:
a. Select the parameter to which to add a value.
b. Enter a value in the Parameter value box.
c. Click .
d. Click Add to Value List. The value is added to the Select a string list.
e. Click Choose Value to view the value list.
6. Click OK.
Managing Parameters in the Embedded Parameters Area
1. Select one or more shapes in the graphics window.
2. Click at the bottom of the graphics window. The Embedded Parameters area appears. The parameters configured for the selected instances display in a table in the appropriate tab. Available parameter values can be changed.
Select a tab to manage parameters for components, ports, fibers, or cables and pipes.
3. To modify the display of parameters in the table click . The Parameter Display Selector dialog box opens.
a. A list of Parameters in Design display in the Name list. Select the parameters to display in the table in the Name list and click Add. The parameters move to the Name list in the Parameters to display area.

Use the SHIFT and CTRL keys or click and drag to select multiple parameters. Use CTRL+A to select all parameters in the list.
b. Use the Up and Down buttons to change the order of the parameter columns in the table.
c. To display only parameters configured for all artifacts of the objects in the table, clear the Display nonexistent parameters check box.
d. Click OK.
4. To modify a value select it in the table and do one of the following operations:
Double-click the value.
Click . The Modify Parameter dialog box opens.

Use the SHIFT and CTRL keys or click and drag to select multiple values.
5. Type a new Value in the box, or select a value from the list.
6. To add a parameter click . The Parameter Selector dialog box opens.
7. Select the parameter to add and type a value or select a value in the Value box.
8. click Apply to add additional parameters or OK. The parameter is added as a column in the table.
9. To sort parameter values in the table, click a column header. The values are sorted in ascending or deciding order.
10. To remove a parameter, select a value in the table and click . A dialog box opens to confirm the removal of the parameter.
11. Click All to remove the parameter from all objects in the table, click Selected to remove it only from the selected object.
